London is known as the world’s most vegan-friendly city together with Berlin, and for good reason! You’ll find vegan restaurants or at least plant based options wherever you go. Here’s a list of my favourite vegan hotspots in London!

Even blindfolded you will have no problem finding vegan food in London, so writing this blog almost seems silly. You could live in London for years and still you’ll only touch the surface of its enormous vegan offer. Still, I wanted to share with you my favourite, amazing plant based deliciousness that I’ve had here to show you what to expect when you travel to London as a vegan.

By the way, I had the pleasure of staying at the Standard Hotel in London, which served some of the best vegan breakfast I've had in any hotel. Read more about this hotel in this blog.

    Unity Diner

This trendy vegan restaurant was founded by my greatest role model Earthling Ed. They serve 'diner' classics, such as all kinds of finger food (mozzarella sticks, drumsticks & gravy, pigs in blankets), beyond meat burgers with fries, vegan beef wellington and of course their award-winning 'Tofish & Chips', which tastes a lot like real fish. Profits go directly to their animal rights work through Surge Activism and the Surge Sanctuary, so you're directly supporting a good cause by treating yourself to all this deliciousness! Everything was really really tasty, but be prepared for some junkfood feels afterwards.

    Stem and Glory

This restaurant won the prize for best vegan restaurant in London! They serve amazing, special dishes that taste even better than they look. The winter gnocchi, the pumpkin ravioli and the gorgeous raw raspberry cheesecake were my favourites.

    60 Bartholomew Cl, Barbican, London

    123 Vegan

123V was founded by Alexis Gauthier, the vegan chef known from Gauthiers in Soho, which was definitely also on the wishlist but sadly we had to save it for next time. The restaurant is somewhat hidden in a department store, but once inside you has great vibes. Their dishes are the definition of soulfood. From quesadillas to rainbow bowls, from pancakes to avo on toast, and from burgers to their popular vegan sushi. I will definitely be coming back here!

Terrace & Lower Ground Floor at Fenwick, 63 New Bond St, London

    Dishoom

People queue outside for over an hour for this wildly popular Indian restaurant (so did we). Crazy, you would think, but after my visit I really get it. Great service, cozy atmosphere (decorated like an old Irani cafe in Bombay) and amazingly delicious food. They have a separate vegan menu offering many different small dishes. You CANNOT leave this place without trying the basmati kheer: caramelized rice pudding with, among other things, vanilla infused coconut milk and cardamom. Holy shit.

    Tofu Vegan

Tofu Vegan was very often (and very urgently) recommended to me by my community on Instagram. And I see why! This Chinese restaurant has a very extensive and diverse menu. From dim sum to noodle dishes and from tofu in so many flavors and sauces to bao buns. If you still say you don't like tofu after visiting Tofu Vegan, I officially give up.

    Dandie Dog Cafe

This is SUCH a special little place, for both humans and doggos! There is even a separate dog menu with all kinds of fancy dogdishes, pupcakes and other colourful treats made especially for dogs. Greta ordered the fish & chips from the dog menu and loved it. I ordered the french toast from the human menu, with banana sourdough, grilled fig, ice cream and caramel sauce. Best toast ever, I dare to say.

    Mallow

This brand new, hip, sustainable restaurant next to the busy Borough market is the daughter of the popular vegan restaurants Mildreds. Great vibe, beautiful design, good coffee and yes, apple-cinnamon pancakes!

    Pastan

A very affordable, cozy, 100% vegan pasta restaurant that settled after several popular pop-up locations. The mac & cheese and the speculoos-filled dough balls were my favourites! So good, that I took an extra dish for the train ride home!

Sutton & Sons Fish & Chips – best vegan Fish & Chips in London

The most British one on the list, probably! Sutton & Sons has multiple locations in London and has won many awards for their fish & chips. That makes it even cooler that they developed a vegan version of this traditional dish that even they are stoked about! Their vegan options are available in all their locations, but they also have a 100% vegan chip shop in Hackney. It’s absolutely delicious and impressive how they are able to mimic the exact fish & chips experience using banana blossom, even including the good old junkfood feels afterwards. They also serve huge vegan fish, chicken, prawn, bacon&cheese burgers that are tasty as well.

    Nem Nem Vietnamese

This traditional Vietnamese restaurant in London has more vegan options than non-vegan options, just like its sister restaurant Nom Nom. Wraps, bowls, buns, bites, curries, seafood and meat dishes, for everything non-vegan dish they have at least one delicious vegan counterpart.

    Purezza Vegan Pizza

Purezza has the best vegan pizza in London, I promise you. Everyone told me and after trying I believe it completely, as I can’t imagine there being better pizzas. Purezza is 100% plant based and in addition to its enormous sourdough pizzas with a thick layer of perfect, drippy vegan cheese and toppings and a huge crust, they also serve vegan pastas, lasagnes, desserts (including vegan cakes and brownies) and delicious sides. Please order the dough balls on the side, filled with drippy cheddar. You’ll thank me later.

    Pho Restaurant

This healthy, vegan-friendly Vietnamese street food restaurant has multiple locations throughout the city. I visited the one in Soho and loved it. They have lots of vegan options, anything from vegan spring rolls, vegan curries, rice bowls, fried noodles, vermicelli noodles, ‘prawnless crackers’ and of course noodle soup (Pho)

    Ping Pong Dim Sum

Ping Pong makes excellent vegan dim sum and other plant based Chinese food in London. They have multiple locations, but I loved the one on the southbank, overlooking the Thames. They are not 100% vegan but they have lots of vegan options and even have a separate vegan menu. See all locations on this map.

WAVE – We Are Vegan Everything

This fully plant based café with beachy holiday vibes is somewhat hidden, but once you find it, you’ll love its cool vibes. Perfect for a vegan breakfast, brunch or just a snack with a beautifully prepared colourful drink. They’ve got pancakes, avo on toast, smoothie bowls, pasta, curry, vegan brioche and all kinds of sweets from their bakery.

    Lele’s Vegan Café & Bakery

Lele’s is a cute little café where you will be amazed by the delicious cakes, sweets and savoury treats that make your mouth water upon entry. They are both dog- and human-friendly and even make vegan dog treats. The coffee is great and I wish I had brought more stomach space for this one. Check out their Instagram to get stoked!

    BOXPARK Shoreditch

BOXPARK is a vibrant foodcourt, creative pop-up shopping center with music played live by DJs, all inside a collection of connected shipping container. It is such a cool hangout where you can find delicious street food, lots of which is vegan(-friendly). You can easily spend hours here, enjoying food, music and people. The Athenian – This Greek restaurant has award-winning gyros, including vegan gyros that takes me right back to the Greek islands! On top of that, they support Greek animal rescue. Besides this small location at BOXPARK, they have multiple bigger locations throughout London. Check them out on this map.

    Supernature X Site

As they say themselves: this is next-level seasonal plant-based food. All homegrown and regeneratively farmed produce. They are 100% and have a brunch and an evening menu, which both look incredible. Unfortunately, I was only at Site for some sweets, including banana bread and this delicious vegan pain au chocolat. They make me want to return to try the brunch and dinner, which consists of small seasonal plates. Check out their website and Instagram to see what they have!
